About the film:

Bodil is a witch and witchcraft is penalised with death in her Kingdom. She also happens to be married to the King, who needs an heir to the throne. As a witch, she is unable to provide him with a child. The only way for her to get pregnant and live is to make a pact with the mythical Elf Queen. But as with any pact with the devil, there is always a price to be payed.

Director Biography:

Since finishing her film studies in London, UK, Arantxa has worked on several international feature films, documentaries and commercials and learned from the different departments. She’s mainly worked on camera, but also editing and as production assistant. Arantxa moved to Sweden on a bycicle trip from Spain in 2008, where she has been freelancing with film and photography. In 2019 she founded the film collective Sprouting Pictures and has since then produced 5 shortfilms, of which 4 she’s directed. The ELf Queen is her debut short film as producer/director.
